Zynga Inc., a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive, has announced the release of the browser-based web3 game, “Sugartown”. The release is scheduled for the end of this year.
Take-Two Interactive is known for publishing such titles as GTA, Max Payne, and Red Dead. In this article, we have collected the most intriguing details about the project!
Blockchain dimension
To access the game, players will need NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain. The first NFT collection,“Oras” (named after the fictional creatures within the game), is set to be released by Zynga later this year. Comprising 10,000 tokens, these NFTs will serve a dual purpose: as a conduit for in-game currency "Sugar", and a pathway to earning rewards.
The precise details about the blockchain component are yet to be known. However, according to Matt Wolf, Zynga's Vice President of web3, the company plans a gradual and steady development in this area. "We created Sugartown to appeal to a native web3 market but with the ambition of scaling much wider over time while we build a passionate and engaged community of holders", he shares.
